Artist Statement

The use of delicate, calming color tones is what sets my artwork apart.  In my paintings, colors are used to create distances between flat elements.

I've always wondered why people like or dislike particular paintings.  It made me consider the relationships between physics, emotions, and vision.  I researched the biology of the eye and emotions influenced by colors and forms.

My paintings, as a result, are passive and progressively evoke a parasympathetic mood. To guide saccades, I use subtly contrasting colors and textures in my compositions.

I painted portraits for commission to start my artistic career. In India, I attended the Chitra Mandir Art Institute where I was trained in landscape and portrait painting. 

My studio is located in Greenville SC.

I want viewers of my paintings to linger a little longer and smile.
